  • A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction restraining a Canadian pharmaceitucal from making, distributing and selling a generic equivalent of Plavix®, the most widely prescribed prescription blood-thinning agent in the world, made by Sanofi Aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb. According to the court's legal opinion approximately “forty-eight million Americans take Plavix daily to prevent potentially fatal blood clots.”
