EPA Settles With Fujifilm Graphic Systems on Hazardous Waste Violations; Sets $40,721 Penalty

CHICAGO, April 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 has settled with Fujifilm Graphic Systems USA Inc., Hanover Park, Ill., for alleged violations of federal hazardous waste regulations. A $40,721 penalty has been set.
The company, located at 850 Central Ave., failed to have a storage permit,
comply with its contingency plan, train employees and close containers. Fujifilm is a distributor of graphic systems and generates hazardous waste in its paint spraying and developing/printing processes that require proper storage and disposal.
Under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, EPA controls hazardous waste from its production to final disposal.
