The Prime Minister announces changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service

OTTAWA, Feb. 8, 2017 /CNW/ - The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:

Jody Thomas, currently Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, becomes Senior Associate Deputy Minister of National Defence, effective March 13, 2017.

Jeffery Hutchinson, currently Deputy Commissioner, Strategy and Shipbuilding, Canadian Coast Guard, becomes Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, effective March 13, 2017.

Nancy Chahwan, currently Assistant Secretary, Government Operations Sector, Treasury Board Secretariat, becomes Deputy Commissioner of Revenue, Canada Revenue Agency, effective March 13, 2017.

John Hannaford, currently Foreign and Defence Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister, Privy Council Office, now serves in this position at the deputy minister level.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate Bill Jones, Senior Associate Deputy Minister of National Defence, on the occasion of his upcoming retirement from the Public Service, following a distinguished career marked by dedication and excellence in serving Canadians.
