WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council Action opened it's political action committee in September of 2008 and is celebrating its already excellent record in off-year elections in New Jersey and Virginia.
"Americans took a serious look at what President Obama really meant by his promise of 'change.' They learned that his change includes pushing mainstream America to accept radical government takeovers, higher taxes, and a worldview that rejects a common sense approach to cultural issues," said Connie Mackey, President of the FRC Action PAC. "The victory for conservatives in these elections amounts to a clear repudiation of that agenda.
"We were proud to support many pro-family candidates. We congratulate each of them for running effective campaigns and look forward to working with them in the future," Mackey said. Following is a list of the candidates FRC Action PAC endorsed:
New Jersey Governor-elect Chris Christie: "We endorsed him for governor of New Jersey so he could fight to bring real change for New Jersey families. As a U.S. Attorney he fought corrupt politicians, advocated for school vouchers, smaller government, and pro-life legislation."
Virginia Governor-elect Bob McDonnell: "We supported him for governor of Virginia because of his work on behalf of life when he was a state legislator and as Attorney General of Virginia. To highlight the difference between the candidates we aired a television ad throughout Southern Virginia asking, 'Which is the real Creigh Deeds?'."
Virginia Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli: "We endorsed him for Attorney General of Virginia for his yeoman's work on behalf of conservative principles and his unwavering stance for life. Ken is a courageous champion of faith, family and freedom and will be a potent force for good in the Virginia AG's office."
Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall: "We supported his re-election campaign financially because of his dedicated work on behalf of life and marriage in the Virginia House of Delegates."
"We supported and contributed financially to the winning Virginia statehouse campaigns of Barbara Comstock, Danny Marshall, Rich Anderson and Scott Garrett as well. We are confident they will champion pro-family and pro-life causes in the General Assembly."
"Last night's victory was not just a win for FRC Action PAC, but a win for families in New Jersey and Virginia," concluded Mrs. Mackey.
