Detroit City Council Candidates Speak to the Community in an Open Forum at Greater Grace Temple TonightPRNewswireDETROITSept. 28

DETROIT, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The public gets a chance to hear from all 18 Detroit City Council candidates tonight, Sept. 28th at 6:00 p.m. at Greater Grace Temple. The 3-hour Candidates Forum is sponsored by Greater Grace and Citizens for a Better Detroit. The forum will also be streamed "live" on www.myfoxdetroit.com.

Moderators for the event are FOX 2's Huel Perkins, WCHB radio personality Angelo Henderson, and WWJ news reporter Stephanie Davis.

"This forum is unique in that all 18-candidates have confirmed that they will take part in this event," says organizer Michael Grundy of Citizens for a Better Detroit. "Each candidate will be able to introduce themselves first, and then take questions from the moderators and the audience."

Grundy says the forum will focus strictly on issues that are crucial to the city and not get sidetracked with "personal" business of the candidates. "We are not going to focus on things that do not help us get things done for the city," says Grundy. "We cannot afford four more years of a city council that is not handling the needs of the city."

Greater Grace Temple has a seating capacity of 4,000 people. The church is located on Detroit's northwest side, at 23500 W. Seven Mile Road. Bishop Charles H. Ellis IIIis the Senior Pastor.
