EDWARDSVILLE, Ill., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Jason Plummer, a small businessman from downstate Edwardsville, will enter the Republican primary for Lt. Governor during a statewide tour of Illinois scheduled for next week. If elected, Plummer will bring his unique vision to revitalize the office of Lt. Governor.
Plummer has worked in the family business, R.P. Lumber, headquartered in Edwardsville and subsidiary companies focusing on property development and technology investments. "As a small businessman, I know what it takes to create new jobs in Illinois," according to Plummer. "Our family is proud and humbled by the fact that we employ hundreds of people in our lumberyards and other companies in Illinois," he said.
"As Lt. Governor, I will draw from that experience and use the office as a bully pulpit to help create new and meaningful jobs and revitalize the Illinois economy," Plummer continued. "I will also work with employers, both small and large, to help remove the bureaucratic roadblocks that unnecessarily hinder their ability to grow their businesses and provide job opportunities and career growth to the hardworking people of Illinois," he added.
Plummer concluded by saying he is looking forward to meeting voters throughout Illinois and discussing strategies for kick starting Illinois' economic engine and creating new jobs.
