Ballast Nedam: Inquiry by British Office of Fair Trading Into Ballast Plc

NIEUWEGEIN, The Netherlands, April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The British Office of Fair Trading has issued a statement of objections to 112 companies, including Ballast Nedam N.V., for alleged infringement of the UK competition rules. Ballast Nedam has been addressed in its capacity of ultimate parent of its former subsidiary Ballast Plc, which is alleged to have participated in the infringement between 2000 and 2003. Ballast Plc was dissolved in 2006.
Ballast Nedam is of the opinion that it cannot be held liable for the alleged infringement by Ballast Plc. Furthermore, it is not certain whether and if so, to what extent a fine will be imposed. For these reasons, no provision is made.
