According to the language of his guilty plea, Senator Craig voluntarily admitted to “engag[ing] in conduct which I knew or should have known tended to arouse alarm or resentment of others, which conduct was physical (versus veral) in nature.” Significantly, Craig acknowledged that he was not claiming that he was “innocent of the charge to which I am entering a plea of guilty,” and that he "knowingly, voluntarily, and intelligently g[a]ve up” certain constitutional rights by choosing to plead guilty. |
