According to a detective’s affidavit, Nowak drove 900 miles from Houston, Texas to Orlando, Fla., “urinated in diapers so that she did not need to stop, stayed at a hotel where she paid cash” using a false name, “stealthily followed the victim, while in disguise, and possessed multiple deadly weapons at the time she confronted the victim,” leading the investigator to believe that Nowak intended to murder NASA engineer Colleen Shipman, the other woman who was reportedly in a relationship with Oefelein.
