    James Brown’s widow, Tommie Rae Hynie Brown, files a petition after the ‘Godfather of Soul's’ death, seeking one-half of his estate. Brown maintains that she is James Brown’s widow. According to their marriage certificate, the couple were married on December 14, 2001 at Beech Island in Aiken County, South Carolina.
