A look at cable, satellite TV earnings reports

Here is a summary of earnings reports for selected cable and satellite TV companies and what they reveal about the industry's prospects:

April 19: Verizon Communications Inc. added 180,000 FiOS video customers to end the quarter with 4.4 million.

Tuesday: AT&T Inc. added 200,000 U-verse TV customers to reach 4 million.

Coming up:

Thursday: Time Warner Cable Inc.

May 2: Comcast Corp.

May 3: Cablevision Systems Corp.

May 8: DirecTV Inc., Charter Communications Inc.

Not yet known: Dish Network Corp.
