Begleiter busts in 6th from World Series of Poker

By OSKAR GARCIA Associated Press Writer

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Steven Begleiter has busted from the World Series of Poker main event in sixth place after Darvin Moon hit an ace on the final community card to best Begleiter's queens.

Begleiter looked certain to double his stack early Sunday shortly after Phil Ivey was eliminated in seventh place, but the ace brought the game its second elimination within minutes and left five players with a chance at the $8.55 million title.

The 47-year-old former Bear Stearns Cos. executive called an all-in raise with pocket queens and excitedly turned to his supporters when he saw Moon's ace-queen. But for the second time within minutes, Moon got the card he needed to take out his opponent.

Begleiter won $1.59 million for sixth place.
