Turner leaves NC State game early with leg injury

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Maryland quarterback Chris Turner left Saturday's game at North Carolina State early with an apparent left leg injury.

Turner was hit by two Wolfpack defenders, one high and one low, as he threw a pass to Torrey Smith with about 4 1/2 minutes left in the first half. He appeared to struggle to put weight on the leg and was helped off the field by the team's medical staff.

The Atlantic Coast Conference's sixth-leading passer was 12-for-19 for 135 yards with an interception and a 1-yard touchdown run before he was hurt.

Turner was replaced by sophomore Jamarr Robinson.
