Zimbabwe says opposition gets more votes but runoff needed
Officials announced Friday that Mugabe won 43.2 percent of votes in the March 29 election. The commission says it will announce a date for a run-off. Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has maintained that he won the vote outright - with more than 50 percent of the vote - and will not contest any run-off. He has accused Mugabe of using the delay to wage a campaign of intimidation and violence. 2008-05-02 13:32:49 GMT
